I'm not sure if the person behind this "ad" is buying or selling laptop batteries (akkuk), but I am fascinated by this low-cost advertising campaign:

My laptop battery lasts about 10 minutes when my machine is unplugged. Maybe I should call!

We were walking through the Nyugati subway station today and heard a pretty horrible version of Amazing Grace. Upon further investigation, we found it was a Chinese guy singing it, and he followed it up by giving a speech about Jesus, in Hungarian. Even better, he had a Hungarian flag on a pole next to him. Even better still, his wife (?) was next to him, selling some kind of soup out of a crockpot.

What is that lovely scent?

From time to time it happens: we all have sometimes happen to have a particularly smelly poo. What to do, as you are sitting there gagging on the john with no air freshener within reach? Luckily, there is an answer! Scented toilet paper! Now as you wipe, you can smell the pleasing aromas of vanilla, strawberry, peach, or chammomile! Wonderful!

This is too good to not share with you. I've been reading the blog of Emily, an American who teaches English in a small town around an hour away from Budapest, for at least a half a year and she consistently makes me laugh out loud.

As Hungarians tend to be, her 8th grade class is a little more, shall we say, sexually precocious than their American counterparts may be. At least in the presence of their teacher.

Anyway, Emily refers to this class as the Porn Kids due to some of the gems she's received in the form of writing assignments. And so, with no further ado, I link you to Another story from the Porn Kids class, a collaborative story by four boys and a girl.
